Just wondering when the league will start up?
Sorry fellas--I'll try to start it up today--at least get it created. I've been really busy this weekend and haven't had the chance. I'll post the info when I get it set up.
I would be interested also fellas. Just let me know if you have a spot left or not.
I'm going to put the cap on the league at 14 members. Hopefully we've got that many still interested.
Here are the settings. I tweaked a couple of things given how things have been in the past 5 or so years I've played fantasy baseball w/Yahoo. I put the Trade reject time at 3 days instead of 2 so we could have a day to talk about it on the board here or on the league page, then 2 days to vote if need be. There DEFINITELY has to be a trade freeze near the end of the season so we don't get teams trying to help others load up. I rolled back the waiver time to help avoid having guys stack their lineups with just guys to play every day to pile up stats. They'll think twice about dropping a good player if they know that this player clears waivers the day after and is free game. I don't like the "can't cut list" because if you get stuck with a really good player that suffers a season ending injury early in the year, that's a frozen roster spot that can't be used. Even if a player is just hurt all year but never goes on the DL, that can handicap a team real quick--and I want all teams to be competitive.
Speaking of DL...I put 2 DL spots instead of 1, that way you can DL an offensive player and a pitcher if need-be. I extended the bench positions from 6 to 8, so at any one point in time you can have 26 total players (16 active, 8 bench, 2 DL which do not count towards roster numbers).
As for the stats, I added hits & slugging % to the offensive stats, and tried to balance that out with K's so we're not sitting on Adam Dunn's shoulders all season...[img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Also in the pitching I added complete games & shutouts, it takes the premium off of power pitchers and helps even the field between the high K guys and the control pitchers. Makes you have to look at more than ERA & K's when getting a pitcher. I thought about adding losses as well to the pitching stats...let me know what ya'll think.
Take a look, and if anyone has any suggestions, let me know...I think we can change these settings up until we set ourselves as ready to draft...so this can be tweaked further. Thanks.
P.S.--another possible tweak--anyone have a suggestion on the minimum innings pitched per week? It defaults to 7, and I put it to 10. I would like to avoid a team with like 5 good RP's that are being rode to great pitching numbers on very little innings of work. Is 10 too much or too little?

There's only 5 teams signed up right now. I thought we had interest of close to 10 or 12??? C'mon fellas...get in. No major hurry or anything since the season doesn't start for a while, but I figured that everyone who said "I'll be in it" was ready to get started.
The cap for teams is set at 14, so if you guys want to find other people to play, that's fine.
One other thing--are there any further suggestions of how we should tweak the scoring system or positions used?
